Arbitrary Boundaries
Making this piece in August, 2021 was to reflect on the time right when everyone didn't really know what to do in the middle of the global COVID pandemic. From the President of the United States, to the CDC, to your neighbor... Everyone had their own opinions, theories, research, and still, no one really knew WHAT the "standard" boundaries were supposed to be, but everyone had their own. So let me ask you, what are your Arbitrary Boundaries?

Fitting In
James describes this buckle as follows "Throughout life we are all trying to find our way whether its new jobs, new cities, mixed families, etc. I've found where I fit in, but not everyone feels that way, or is that fortunate. The buckle has a Sterling Silver base, I applied the muli- colored golds and platinum in a Jackson Pollock/Joan Miro style, as though the geometric pieces were dropped and flung onto the buckle. The Calm
“The Summer of 2019 has been serene and calm for me, all things seem to be in their rightful place and this calm is reflected in the smooth 18k yellow gold of the center shield. The gold triangle in the center is actually made up of two mathematical greater than symbols indicating that, for now, the calm is greater than the swirling chaos on the outside.
